Pressure Angle Finder for Spur & Helical Gears






In Gear Industry earlier usually 14.5° and 20° pressure angle hobs were being used. But now a days due to design requirement, non-availability of drawings or monopolistic approach even non-standard pressure angles are being used. In such cases we require to have the correct pressure angle of sample gear. 

Sometimes we have a physical sample of gear but we don't have drawings or technical details. And we require pressure angle of the gear for cutting the new gear.

This computer software ( Pressure Angle Finder) has been developed to find the pressure angle of a spur or helical gear from a sample gear by measuring the measurement over teeth or base tangent length or dimension over pins of old teeth.



Change Gear Finder for Gear Hobbing (Without Differential)



If a gear hobbing machine is not equipped with differential, there is a fixed relation between index and feed gears and it becomes neccessity to compensate for even slight errors in the index gear ratio, to avoid excessive lead errors.

This program calculates the index and feed gears for gear hobbing without differential. This program modifies the ratio of the feed gears slightly by offsetting the index gear error and thus makes very accurate leads possible.

Change Gears for Gear Hobbing (With Differential)


This Change Gear Finder software calculates the possible change gears for a hobbing machine equipped with differential.



If a Gear Hobbing machine is equipped with a differential, the LEAD GEARS are computed in order to obtain the required helix angle. This program has been developed to calculate the Lead Gears for such Gear Gobbing Machine. 


However, the instructions of the hobbing machine manufacturers should be followed in computing the Laed Gears, because the ratio formula is affected by the location of the differential gears.

Accordingly, this program can also be modified and best Lead Gears can be found to minimize the errors in Helix Angle and Lead.
